World Book Day Fun

10th Mar 2025
Pyjamas Day and DEAR Time
We had a wonderful World Book Day here in Glór na Mara. Students and teachers opted to swap their uniforms for their cosy pyjamas to remember that special time before bed when we get cosy and read our favourite books.
After lunch, our Library Committee member, Walid, announced to the whole school over the intercom that it was time to Drop Everything And Read. We had a lovely whole school extended DEAR time!

Storytime
Continuing our focus on reading for enjoyment, the 5th class Library Committee organised a very special storytime in our library for the Junior and Senior infants. They read popular picture books such as We're Going on a Bear Hunt, The Snail and the Whale and Tiddler by Julia Donaldson. The infants brought some special guests along to join in their storytime too!

Tramore Library Visit
To mark World Book Day and to acknowledge the great work to date by our Library Committee, Loretta from Tramore Library paid us a visit. We are so grateful to Loretta for giving up her time to meet with our committee and share her expertise and advice. Loretta also made a very special presentation of a large collection of books by Irish authors for our school library. We are so excited to get these books on the shelves and share our new titles with the rest of the school. Thank you so much to Loretta and Tramore Library for their support and generosity.
