Tree Planting
25th Jan 2024
Volunteers from Waterford Lions Club visited our school today to assist 5th class planting apple trees in our school grounds. Brian Jacob, leading the Trees for Life programme organised and sourced the apple trees which we planted. We are very grateful to past pupil Michael Flynn of the FLI Group for sponsoring the trees.
Since the opening of our new extension we have been working to promote biodiversity on our school grounds through the planting of pollinator plants, fruit trees, composting garden waste and growing a host of vegetables.
We have now over two dozen fruit trees in our school grounds. In years to come we hope they bear blossoms and fruit for generations to come.
Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers from the Trees for Life programme for giving up their morning to teach us about planting trees and promoting biodiversity.
