Exploring Nature: 5th Class Workshop on Birds and Trees
On the 6th of November, 5th Class had a fantastic day connecting with nature during a special workshop led by Catherine Twomey from Heritage Ireland. The workshop focused on the birds and trees found right here in our school grounds and offered students a hands-on, educational experience.
The children were excited to learn how to identify different species of birds and trees using twigs and leaves. With Catherine's guidance, they honed their observation skills and gained a deeper appreciation for the wildlife and greenery around them.
As part of the workshop, the students also got crafty by making their very own bird feeders! These feeders will help care for our local bird population and encourage more feathered friends to visit our school grounds.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities and had a wonderful time learning about the natural world in such a fun and engaging way.
A big thank you to Catherine Twomey and Heritage Ireland for inspiring our students to explore and protect the amazing wildlife all around us!
