Exploring Mould Growth in Our Classroom: 5th class Science Experiment
Last month, our class embarked on an exciting science experiment to find the best environment for mould growth using slices of bread. We took swabs from various spots in our classroom—like the sink, desks, and door handles—then pressed them onto bread slices, sealed them in bags, and waited.
Each student made a hypothesis about which location would produce the most mould. After four weeks, we observed surprising results: the door handle bread had the most mould, followed by the sink sample. This taught us how germs thrive in damp or high-contact areas.
The experiment sparked curiosity and promoted teamwork. It also reminded us about the importance of hygiene. Science can be messy, fun, and educational all at once!
We're excited to take this knowledge into future experiments. Stay tuned for more discoveries from our young scientists!
