An Inspiring Encounter: 5th Class Meets Author Brian Gallagher at Tramore Library

26th Mar 2025

On Wednesday 26th of March both 5th classes had an unforgettable experience visiting Tramore Library to meet the children's author, Brian Gallagher. Known for his compelling historical fiction, Brian's works, such as Friend or Foe, set during the Easter Rising of 1916, have captivated young readers.

During the visit, Brian engaged the students by answering numerous questions, offering insights into his writing process and the historical contexts of his stories. He also read excerpts from his recent book, The Case of the Vanishing Painting, a thrilling mystery set in 1911 Ireland, where a valuable painting disappears from a guarded train carriage.

Brian's passion for storytelling was truly inspiring, igniting a spark in many budding writers among the students. He graciously met with members of our library committee, presenting us with a signed poster of his latest book, a cherished memento of the day.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Loretta and the entire team at Tramore Library for organising such a memorable visit. Their dedication to fostering a love of reading and learning in our community is deeply appreciated.
