Children in 5th Class had a wonderful Maths Week 2024. There were a series of activities organised for the children to enjoy and they dove headfirst into the world of numbers, problem-solving, and fun!
There was a fantastic Magical Maths webinar, where students were amazed by the mind-bending tricks and puzzles that brought maths to life in a way they had never seen before. This webinar wasn’t just about calculations – it was about discovering how magical numbers can be and sparking curiosity about the power of mathematics. The children were left in awe, eager to figure out the secrets behind the tricks.
But the excitement didn’t stop there on Thursday both our 5th Classes joined forces with 500 schools from all around Ireland for an online maths quiz. The competitive spirit was palpable as our students worked in teams, putting their maths skills to the test. It was a experience to see how they measured up against students from across the country. The sense of achievement when answering tough questions, combined with the fun of working together, made it an unforgettable experience.
To round off a fantastic week on Friday, Ms. Alyward’s class invited everyone us to join in their classroom for some interactive maths games.. It was a great way to see how creative and engaging maths can be when approached through hands-on activities. Everyone left with smiles on their faces, buzzing from a week full of maths magic and teamwork.
