Active School Senior Assembly
Last Friday, the Active School Committee organised their first assembly. Tom and Millie spoke about the many highlights from last year and told us about the benefits of physical activity for our bodies and minds.
Sarah and Mia reminded all classes to keep up their Daily Active Movement Breaks. Mia also highlighted how much choice we have in Tramore and mentioned lots of our sports clubs. They then led all of the students and teachers in a community Active Movement Break. There was so much energy in the room, it was such fun!
Then Becky and Alison introduced our new initiative - Glór na Mara All Stars. Every month we will honour students for their sporting achievements. This month we honoured our u13 hurlers. Cillian, Oisín and Neil spoke about their recent county final. They also pointed out that the best part of being on a team is that you make friends for life while getting fit and having fun.
Next up were Vigif and Andre to inspire us with their recent achievements in Jujitsu. They showed us their medals and spoke about their recent and upcoming competitions.
We couldn't finish up without another activity so Oisín and Milly led us in - Active Simon Says!
Thank you so much to the Active School Committee who are wonderful role models for their fellow students. And a huge thank you to ALL the boys and girls and their teachers for working together to make Glór na Mara an Active School. Next up is Active October. We can't wait!!
