Glór Na Mara chess club has finished for the 23/24 school year. We would like to say a big thank you to all the pupils who came to the club each week. They have all made huge improvements.
We finished off by hosting a tournament for all club members over the past two weeks. All players got to play 5 matches. Congratulations to the joint tournament winners Leroy and Thomas. Both were awarded their very own chess sets for their win. All other participants were awarded a homework voucher for their efforts.
We hope everyone keeps practicing and refining their skills. We will resume the club next year during the winter months.
Once again thank you to the Glór Na Mara parents association for their funding for chess sets and timers. Thank you to Ms Condon, Mr O’Rourke, Ms O’Neil, Ms Aylward, Mr Kelleher and Mr Carroll for their help running the club.
